About the Role
Applied Systems, a leader in the insurtech space for over 40 years, is hiring a Public Cloud Engineer to join their Cloud Engineering team in Bengaluru. This is an exciting opportunity to work on hybrid infrastructure spanning GCP, AWS, and Azure, contributing to automation-first solutions that ensure uptime, security, and performance in the cloud.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage third-party public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Implement, test, and maintain hybrid cloud infrastructure
- Use Terraform, CDKTF, and HCL to automate infrastructure deployment (IaC)
- Maintain CI/CD pipelines via GitLab for infrastructure and application delivery
- Design and troubleshoot cloud-native architectures (GKE, GCS, GLB, Istio, ArgoCD)
- Define best practices for disaster recovery and monitoring using DataDog
- Collaborate with DevOps, IT, and vendor teams to ensure 24/7 availability
- Perform after-hours or weekend maintenance as needed
- Maintain configuration and operational documentation

- Scripting Languages: Python, PowerShell, Bash
- Security & Observability: HashiCorp Vault, DataDog, GCP Cloud Armor
- DevOps Tools: GitLab, ArgoCD, Ansible, Jira Agile, Confluence
- Kubernetes & Networking: GKE, Istio, Helm, Load Balancers
- Strong understanding of performance monitoring and infrastructure optimization
- Excellent problem-solving, documentation, and communication skills
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure engineering
- Experience with CI/CD, monitoring, and automation tools
- GCP Professional Certification (Preferred)
- Strong focus on cloud security, disaster recovery, and uptime
