apexanalytix, a leader in audit and analytics solutions trusted by Global 2000 companies, is hiring a PostgreSQL-focused SQL Database Administrator. This is a full-time role for individuals looking to gain real-world experience working with production systems in a high-performance IT environment.

Ideal for junior to mid-level DBAs, the role offers in-depth exposure to PostgreSQL, performance tuning, backups, scripting, replication, monitoring, and cloud-native infrastructure.

🔹 Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with PostgreSQL database installation, setup, and maintenance
• Work on database objects like schemas, tables, views, indexes, and functions
• Support migration from Microsoft SQL Server to PostgreSQL (using pgloader, custom scripts)
• Help implement Point-in-Time Recovery, HA & replication setups
• Use tools like pgAdmin, Prometheus, and pg_stat_activity for monitoring
• Participate in backup & restore operations with pg_basebackup, pg_dump, pgBackRest
• Tune slow queries using EXPLAIN (ANALYZE), indexing, and query plans
• Manage RBAC and user privileges
• Write automation scripts in Bash, Python, or SQL for routine tasks
• Maintain internal SOP documentation and participate in code reviews

🔹 Required Skills:

• PostgreSQL basics: Installation, configuration, and security
• Strong understanding of relational databases and SQL queries
• Knowledge of T-SQL to PL/pgSQL translation
• Performance tuning and query optimization skills
• Exposure to backup tools like pgBackRest
• Strong documentation and communication skills
• Ability to work in collaborative team environments

• Basic experience with Microsoft SQL Server
• Familiarity with Kubernetes, Helm, or containerized systems
• Scripting in PowerShell, Bash, or Python
