The Selling Partner Identity Verification (SPIV) team ensures that Amazon remains a safe and trustworthy marketplace and a great platform for sellers worldwide. Our mission is to provide a secure and accurate identity verification platform to protect customers from bad actors and enable fast, secure registration and account management.

We support multiple Amazon businesses globally, including:

• Mechanical Turk
• Selling on Amazon
• Amazon Pay
• Amazon Flex

Our systems serve millions of customers across North America, Europe, Japan, China, and more — ensuring a safe and secure shopping experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and fix production software issues.
• Develop tools, automation, and monitoring solutions.
• Maintain and configure internally developed code (Java).
• Work on operations and maintenance-driven coding projects using Java, Python, Shell Scripts, and AWS.
• Support software deployments in staging and production environments.
• Develop tools to aid operations and maintenance.
• Provide system and support status reporting.
• Take ownership of digital products or components.
• Collaborate with the support team to hand-off or take over active support issues.
• Create a team-specific knowledge base and enhance team skills.

Basic Qualifications

• 2+ years of software development or technical support experience.
• Strong experience in troubleshooting and debugging technical systems.
• Hands-on experience with Unix.
• Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Shell).

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of web services, distributed systems, and web application development.
• Experience troubleshooting and maintaining hardware and software RAID.
• Familiarity with REST web services, XML, and JSON.
