Job Description
Amazon is seeking a Lab Support Engineer to work with the Customer Experience and Business Trends (CXBT) team. As a Lab Support Engineer, you will support our systems, experimental setups, and host management. You'll partner with Software Development Managers (SDM), Technical Program Managers (TPM), and Engineers to construct, assemble, test, and troubleshoot systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Partner with SDMs, TPMs, and Engineers to build, assemble, and troubleshoot systems (remote and locally).
- Monitor system performance and ensure availability.
- Support software engineering teams by contributing to device automation.
- Provision Linux hosts for automated experiments, host administration, and troubleshooting.
- Compose technical documents for operational processes and troubleshooting.
A Day in the Life
- Provide technical support (remote and locally) and assist in resolving ticket issues.
- Implement system migrations and provide remote support as needed.
- Collaborate on developing system approaches and improvements.
Basic Qualifications
- 2+ years of software development or technical support experience
- Experience troubleshooting and debugging technical systems
- Familiarity with Unix
- Scripting experience in modern programming languages
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electronics & Communications, Computer Engineering, or similar
- Experience in networking fundamentals and troubleshooting tools (e.g., ICMP, traceroute, netstat, pcap, etc.)
- Experience maintaining lab facilities and creating new processes
- Strong communication and writing skills
- Ability to occasionally adjust work schedule to business needs
