Role: Associate Site Reliability Engineer (SRE)

Alteryx is hiring an Associate Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to join its global Cloud SaaS Infrastructure team. This role focuses on ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance optimization across AWS, GCP, and Azure platforms while collaborating with engineering, infrastructure, and AI-driven observability teams.

You’ll contribute to critical initiatives including AI-based incident response, autoscaling optimization, and reliability frameworks that support Alteryx’s global SaaS ecosystem.


Key Responsibilities

  • Deploy, manage, and monitor cloud services across AWS, GCP, and Microsoft Azure.
  • Collaborate with product and platform engineering teams to define SLIs, SLOs, and error budgets.
  • Implement observability enhancements using Datadog, OpenTelemetry, Grafana, and Prometheus.
  • Automate alert remediation, on-call processes, and runbook creation.
  • Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and post-incident documentation.
  • Write and maintain infrastructure as code (IaC) using Terraform, Helm, Docker, and Python.
  • Contribute to scalability testing, autoscaling (HPA, VPA, Cluster Autoscaler), and cloud optimization.

Qualifications

  • 1–2 years of experience supporting cloud-native systems or distributed microservices.
  • Proficiency in a modern programming language (Python, Go, or Java).
  • Strong understanding of Kubernetes, Helm, CI/CD pipelines, and container orchestration.
  • Familiarity with DevOps workflows (ArgoCD, GitHub Actions, Jenkins).
  • Experience with monitoring tools like Datadog, Prometheus, or Grafana.
  • Problem-solving mindset and ability to debug system-level issues using logs, metrics, and traces.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills.

Preferred Skills

  • Exposure to AI/ML Ops, LLM-based debugging, or incident summarization tools.
  • Knowledge of performance benchmarking and load testing frameworks.
  • Understanding of networking fundamentals and container runtime internals.
  • Familiarity with multi-cloud environments and hybrid infrastructure design.
