Job Description:
ACV Auctions is seeking a skilled Data Infrastructure Engineer II to join their team at the new India Development Center in Chennai. This role involves working on tools and backend infrastructure to optimize the performance, scalability, and reliability of the company's data platform. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement scalable data infrastructure solutions, ensuring high performance and security.

What You’ll Do:

• Collaborate with Data Scientists, Software Engineers, and Data Analysts to understand data requirements
• Influence engineering standards for databases, tooling, languages, and build systems
• Design and maintain scalable and high-performance data infrastructure solutions
• Implement tools and best practices for access control, data versioning, and database management
• Troubleshoot database/system issues and bottlenecks, implementing effective solutions
• Write clean, maintainable code and automation for the data infrastructure layer
• Perform code reviews and create robust test suites
• Support SOX audits and ensure compliance through automation
• Provide technical support for databases, troubleshooting and performance tuning
• Design optimized database schemas and queries for maximum efficiency
• Participate in the on-call rotation and troubleshoot complex issues
• Manage multiple competing priorities in an agile, fast-paced environment

What You Need:

• 1+ years of experience in data infrastructure, programming in Python, and cloud platforms (preferably GCP/AWS)
• Hands-on experience with tools like GitHub, Jenkins, and Terraform
• Experience with DevOps practices and database automation
• Proficiency in SQL and Python programming
• Experience with database management tools like PostgreSQL, MySQL, DynamoDB, and MongoDB
• Experience with big data technologies and distributed databases
• Knowledge of infrastructure as code, cloud services, and service-oriented architecture

Nice to Have Qualifications:

• Experience with NoSQL databases and tools like Airflow, Docker, Kubernetes, and DataDog
• Experience with GCP/BigQuery, Confluent Kafka, and AWS RDS/Aurora
• Hands-on experience with SOX compliance requirements
• Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and ETL frameworks
