Position Overview – Associate Software Engineer (Observability Team)

Acquia is seeking a passionate Associate Software Engineer to join the Observability Team within its Engineering Department.

In this role, you’ll help build, optimize, and monitor large-scale cloud-based systems while working closely with multiple teams to ensure system reliability, scalability, and performance. You will be part of a highly skilled group that drives centralized observability solutions for all internal engineering teams.

Location: Remote (India) – Pune or Delhi NCR


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain core internal systems, tools, and automation for logging, monitoring, and traceability.
  • Build scalable, reliable, and high-availability modules for cloud-based systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate observability solutions across services.
  • Maintain deep understanding of system functionality, including availability, performance, change management, and capacity planning.
  • Participate in Scrum-based software development lifecycles.
  • Provide product support for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Operate in a DevOps-driven team environment, taking ownership of the services you build and maintain.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 1+ year of software development experience in Cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud).
  • Hands-on experience with EKS (Elastic Kubernetes Service) preferred.
  • Understanding of Golang, PHP, Ruby, or similar programming languages.
  • Familiarity with Kubernetes, OpenTelemetry, Collectd, Fluentd, Prometheus, Grafana, New Relic, CloudWatch, Splunk, Nagios, or willingness to learn.
  • Strong knowledge of Linux/Unix operating systems.
  • Solid understanding of design patterns and system design principles.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.

Bonus / Preferred Skills

  • AWS Certifications (Cloud Practitioner, Developer, or Architect).
  • Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience automating repetitive or manual tasks using scripts or tools.
  • Exposure to distributed systems and service-oriented architectures.
